Les Verrières de Montagnac

The domain Les Verrières de Montagnac was started as an ambitious project that Walter Pizzaferri carries out with the help of his manager and cellar master Olivier Groux, a former cellar master of prestigious castels in Bordeaux, and Sebastien Pichot, grand-son of a Champagne winegrower who made his passion his job dedicating all his career to the development and management of vineyards.

Four grape varieties, four identities.
Syrah: nobility
Cinsault: surprise
Grenache: Mediterranean
Carignan: history

The vineyard is located in the Sandstone of Montpellier’s appellation facing the Mediterranean Sea and backing to the Cevennes, are the Coteaux du Languedoc.

Soil: arid, clay and limestone, surrounded shades of khaki green cypresses, olive and fig trees.

In search of quality, they adopt the principles of sustainable agriculture, by elimiting the use of herbicides as they prefer to do severe pruning, supplemented if necessary, by a “green work” to control the yield and to facilitate the grapes maturation.
The plots are vinified separately and each vintage is personally monitored.
